He has an M.A in English from Ravenshaw University and a Ph. D from CIEFL, Hyderabad. He has done an advanced course in Development and Management of English language Education at Lancaster University, in the U.K
He has more than 43 years of academic experience in teaching and research both in India and abroad.
He is the author of a few books on "English Grammar and Writing". His current research interest lies in the application of Chomsky’s theory of language to the field of communication.
At present, he is also an advisor to the Orissa Secondary Board of Education on English. He is also on the Board of Studies of C.V. Raman Global University.
After his retirement as Principal from Ravenshaw College (presently Ravenshaw University), he joined as Professor Communicative English at BIITM in 2008.
